Advisory Board

Khalid Al Jassim

Mr. Al Jassim has over twenty years of Investment Banking and Corporate Advisory experience gained with global institutions in the world. He currently serves as the Managing Partner of Afkar Holdings. Previously, Khalid was with Arcapita Bank and was instrumental in forming the bank’s vision, mission and strategy. At the time that Khalid left Arcapita to build his personal business he was an Executive Director of the bank and member of the Management Investment Committee, Management Administration Committee and head of placement. Khalid has a BSC in Computer Science & Mathematics from California State University Long Beach and an Executive MBA from Pepperdine University, Malibu, California.

Nasr-Eddine Benaissa

Mr. Benaissa has an enviable track record in the financial services sector and currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer for Mawarid Investments. In 2007, he co-founded the Eastgate Capital Group in Dubai and built it into one of the largest regional players with Commitments under Management of US$ 1.3 billion. Before that, Mr. Benaissa was a Partner with McKinsey & Company, where he spent eight years. While at McKinsey, he co- founded the Islamic Banking practice at McKinsey, and co-led the financial institutions and retail practices in the Middle East. He was also a lead member of the emerging markets financial services group. Previously, he worked at Ernst & Young in London and Paris in the Financial Services Group and at the United Nations in Geneva. Mr. Benaissa holds an M.Sc. from Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales in Paris (HEC).

Laurent Nordin

Laurent Nordin is a Director at Mckinsey&Company. He joined the Paris Office of the Firm in 1995 and mostly served Financial institutions in France where he was elected a partner in 2001. In 2002, he joined the newly opened Middle-East Office in Dubai, where he created and led the Financial Institutions practice for the region, serving and transforming banks especially from Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Qatar on their journeys to become leading regional institutions. Laurent also created and led the Sovereign Wealth Funds practice and later co-led the global Principal Investors and Family-Owned Business practices. Laurent’s passions are corporate transformations journeys and governance. He has helped leading institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries design and implement multi-year growth and performance journeys spanning a wide variety of projects, including strategy, organisation, mergers and acquisitions, and operations. He has also served major Gulf-based family groups over many years on a broad range of issues, including family governance. Laurent was a co-founder and Board member of the GCC Board Directors Institute, a not-for-profit organization. He led McKinsey involvement in the Institute which aims at promoting best governance practices in the Gulf and training Board directors. Laurent is a French National, he graduated from French Grande Ecole Supelec (Masters' degree) and from INSEAD MBA. He is married with 5 children.
